Adebiyi Gregory Daramola (born March 2, 1958) was a Nigerian academic He was Professor in Agricultural Economics and the 6th substantive Vice chancellor of Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State.[1][2][3]

Early life[edit]

Daramola was born on March 2, 1958. He attended Anglican Grammar School for his secondary education in Ile-ife. He transferred to Saint Charles College, Osogbo where he received his secondary school leaving certificate. He then studied at The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1975. He received his first degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. (formerly University of Ife) and continued his education at the University of Ibadan for his M.Sc and PhD in Philosophy.[1]

Career[edit]

Daramola started his career in 1982 as a teaching assistant in the department of Agricultural economics, in the University of Ibadan. In 1986, he served as an assistant lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension at (FUTA) Federal University of Technology, Akure. He continued working there and rose from assistant lecturer to professor in 1999. He served as the Head of Department, Chairman and member of different committees in the institution.

Daramola published over 50 journal articles in local and international journals.

Adebiyi Gregory Daramola was married with children.

He died on Friday, 25th March, 2022 at the age of 64
