Adeel Amini
Adeel Amini (born 1986) is a TV Producer and mental health campaigner.
Early Life
Amini was born in Bradford, Yorkshire to Pakistani parents. He studied at the University of Edinburgh.[1]
Career
Adeel works as a TV producer. His producing credits include Catchphrase, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Blind Date.[2]
Announced at Edinburgh TV Festival in August 2020, through his campaigning he gained support for the Coalition For Change, a pan-industry group including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, Netflix, Amazon alongside other industry organisations.[3]
Controversies
In 2021, Piers Morgan aimed a tweet at Amini saying he would rather employ a lobotomised aardvark than Amini on Piers Morgan's Life Stories before threatening to speak to ITV about him.[4] As a result of this, 1200 TV industry employees wrote to ITV accusing Piers Morgan of bullying and intimidation, calling on action from ITV.[5] ITV chose not to act. [6]
