Adham Medhat Elsherif (Arabic: ادهم مدحت الشريف; born 22 September 2000),[2] better known as Adham Elsherif, is a British-Egyptian music producer, singer, rapper and filmmaker.
Career
Filmmaking and TikTok
Adham Elsherif began uploading short films to a YouTube channel with the name of Digital Hero, he uploaded short films and videos with the use of VFX.[3] He only uploaded four videos to the channel. He worked on several films during his time in London, working in different roles on different films.[4] Not too long after he stopped uploading to YouTube, Adham started a TikTok page during the beginning of the COVID-19 Lockdown. The style of videos he made changed to suit the style of the platform, shortening the videos to around 15 seconds, filming vertically and using loops but retained the use of VFX.[5] Adham made a video of himself shrinking then a larger version of himself steps on him by accident then looping back, this was the first video of his to grab any attention online, it gained 30,000 views.[6] He kept regularly uploading VFX videos to TikTok, until eventually uploading a video of himself talking on the phone and a person in a black mask knocks him out with a bat who turns out to be himself, an Egyptian Mahraganat song about betrayal was playing in the background, this video reached 500,000 views and brought him a lot more attention in Egypt.[7] Shortly after, Adham disappeared off of all social media platforms except Instagram for almost a year.
Music
Adham soon returned to Social Media in Early 2021 uploading the song "مهرجان الهضبة" to SoundCloud and YouTube, he did not share the song via Instagram for unknown reasons, the song was popular with Tuktuk drivers in the streets.[8] He also uploaded a remake of the old popular song "مهرجان الشندربولة" modernizing the song, it went viral on SoundCloud and became popular in the streets of Giza reaching over a million plays.[9] He has produced music for numerous Egyptian rappers and singers as well as performed on songs with some of them. The song "Wa2ef Lwa7dy" also became a popular party and wedding song that was listened to within working class communities.[10] Around early 2022, Adham changed the style of music he makes to a style more similar to Trap/Hip-Hop but still incorporating Egyptian elements and some similarities to Mahraganat music. Adham continues to upload new music multiple times a month. [11]
Personal life
Adham is the son of the Egyptian Actress Rehab Elgamal, this was unknown to fans until a picture of him kissing her on the cheek was posted by her in 2017, many people commented on the photo saying that he is not actually her son but a young man she is dating. Multiple female celebrities have commented on him being attractive including Mayar Al-Beblawy and Nada Basyouni. His parents separated soon after he was born.[12] Adham graduated from school in 2019 as a respected student within his school.[13] Adham is an only child and was not believed to be the son of Rehab Elgamal by her fans due to how similar in age they look.[14]
