Adinkra Syllabary
Adinkra Syllabary (Asante Twi: Adinkra Nkyea) is a syllabary that uses Adinkra Characters to represent the Orthography for Asante Twi. It consists of some 39 characters, 10 numbers and 3 punctuation marks. The Adinkra Alphabet uses characters derived from the original Adinkra Symbols. It does not contain letters C, J, Q, V, X, Z.

History
Historically, Adinkra has always been used within Akan Society. Most Adinkra Characters are descended from the original symbols which have been in use since 1817.


Adinkra Syllabary
The Adinkra Syllabary is a simplified version of the Traditional Adinkra Symbols. It is a written system used to communicate the Asante Twi Dialect and other Akan Languages.[1] As of 2021, it is being used to write and type Asante Twi.
