Aditya Bhat (born 30 October 1977, in Mumbai ) is an entrepreneur, a marketing consultant, a public speaker,[1] a professor, and a creative content developer, who spent most of his life in the field of media/entertainment and marketing domains.[2]
He is the founder of Business of Ideas which was established in the year 2011. He is the Head of Jio Creative Labs. He is one of Asia-pacific's 50 most influential and purposeful marketers 2020[3][4]
Early life[edit]
Aditya Bhat grew up in Mumbai. He received a bachlor's degree in Chemical Engineering from D. J. Sanghvi College of Engineering. In 2002, he pursued a master's degree in Management Studies from Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research.[citation needed]
Career[edit]
In 2002, he started off with Tata Chemicals, where he was Assistant Manager (Sales), Tata Salt and handled sales of 44 towns. For a period of 13 months he was with the marketing and branding team there.[citation needed]
In 2004, he quit TATA Chemicals and joined the Star Group wherein he launched Star One on 1 November 2004. He managed the marketing aspects for the channels of Star. Later, he moved to a broader role of Business Development, globally marketed Star' s largest free to air channel Star Utsav and moved across the world to market the channel to the Indian Diaspora-based Internationally in UK, US, Middle East and South East Asia.[citation needed]
In August 2007, he joined 9X as where, just in a few months, he moved up to non-fiction content. In November2007, He launched 9X and came on as the head of on air events which eventually would see him heading non-fiction as a segment for the company. In February 2009, he started freelancing as a marketing consultant and started working on the creative process of conceptualizing various TV shows. Over the next couple of years, Mr. Bhat created more than 40 original formats on air, the maximum to an individual's credit in that decade. He has also creatively directed India's largest beauty pageant, Femina Miss India for 4 consecutive years. In 2011, he founded the company Business of Ideas which specialised in media and brand solutions. It would grow to have more than 20 clients by the end of 2015 and a team of more than 40 marketing and media consultants. In 2016, Business of Ideas, Mr. Aditya Bhat's latest venture, merged with JIO to form JIO Studios, the in-house Marketing and Advertising team of the company. Aditya Bhat is known to use his creativity to spread awareness about causes, having created digitally viral films on Anti Smoking, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Blood Donation, Women empowerment, Child Education and many more which trended no. 1 organically and got shared by influencers in the community.[citation needed]
India's biggest cricket festival IPL, sees multiple brands vying for the consumers attention. For first 2 out of 3 consecutive years, JIO's TVC conceptualised by JIO Studios garnered highest top of mind recall in the consumer's head(source: GroupM) despite it not being the title sponsor.[5]
Under his leadership, He and his team conceptualised and executed the Election Commission of India's 2019 Campaign.
