Adokiye Oyagiri was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to the family of Late Justus Oyagiri and Dr. Mrs. Juliet Berewari JP, from Rivers State.

Adokiye attended (UPE) Primary School, Ahoada, Adventist Nursery and Primary School in Port Harcourt and followed with an Agricultural/Environmental degree at the Rivers State University.

Biography

Adokiye was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He began his University studies at the Rivers State University in Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he studied Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.

Adokiye Oyagiri has served as Special Assistant and Chief of Staff to Rt. Hon. Ehie Ogerenye Edison Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

In 2017 he was appointed Special Adviser on Youth Development to the Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Britain Ewor of the Ahoada East Local Government Area in Rivers State under the platform of the State Peoples Democratic Party.

Adokiye was born to the family of Late Mr. Justus Oyagiri and Dr. Mrs. Juliet Chioma Berewari JP[1] [2] [3]

Adokiye attended (UPE) Primary School, Ahoada, Adventist Nursery and Primary Schools, Port Harcourt and following on he attended the International Secondary School, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.

Adokiye Oyagiri is the Pioneer President of the International Secondary School Old Students Association Class of 2003.

Political Activism

In a press interview, Adokiye Oyagiri flays the Oil and Gas giants Exxon Mobil and the Nigerian Federal Government for incompetence over explosions and spills saying “The general carelessness and apparent racist mode of operations as practiced by Mobil in Nigeria, due to the non-existent industry oversight by the Nigerian government, also led to an explosion at the Qua Iboe Terminal on December 12, 2020, leading to the loss of life of a Supervisor and the hospitalisation of others who survived the burns. [4] He warned oil companies from taking part in the bidding process instituted by Nigeria's Department for Petroleum Resources (DPR) for 57 oil wells.[5] The Niger Delta Congress through Adokiye cited the destruction of the Niger Delta environment and the economic deprivation of the people as major reasons for its call, and warned prospective bidders that they were taking a risk and the initiative would be resisted by the group.

In August 2020, he called for the political autonomy of the Niger Delta region after statistics from the NBS revealed unemployment and underemployment in the Niger Delta region was higher than all other regions. [6]

Adokiye Oyagiri in a statement claimed that the Niger Delta region is owed $75 billion by the Nigerian government for unremitted revenues, and compensations due to the negative externalities of oil exploration on Niger Delta communities. [7]

Adokiye Oyagiri warned President Muhammadu Buhari against the northernization of Nigeria's institutions in December 2020. [8] [9] He called for a Stakeholders meeting of all ethnic nationalities of the Niger Delta describing the actions of the Nigerian President as “blatant disregard for the principles of Federal Character and disrespect for other regions of the country, especially the Niger Delta region.” [10] As Secretary General of Ekpeye Youths he was appointed into the Ekpeye National Committee on Oil and Gas. A committee tasked with the negotiations, oversight and implementation of all agreements reached with oil and gas companies operating in Ekpeyeland [11] Adokiye Oyagiri in a statement called for greater Cooperation amongst Niger Delta Leaders and youth groups. In 2018 he called the Rivers State Government's attention to Mr. Friday Opurum, a renowned traffic volunteer bestow in Portharcourt urges the Rivers State Government to bestow a State Honour for his services to the state. Mr. Friday Opurum was eventually nominated and received the RIVERS STATE MERIT AWARD (RSMA) at the second edition of the Rivers State Government State Honours Award. [12] He condemns the killing of a Police Officer ASP. Nelson Azuma by suspected secessionist gunmen in Rivers State. ASP Azuma was a native of Edeoha community in Ahoada East Local Government Area. [13] Niger Deltans cannot be annexed into the Biafran contraption through the backdoor as well as Alhaji Asari Dokubo cannot hold negotiations for any part of the region without the necessary support of the entire ethnic nationalities that make up the region.
