Adrian Brisku is an Albanian professor, author, and historian at Charles University in Prague[1] and Ilia State University in Tbilisi.[2]
Early life[edit]
Adrian was born as the third of four siblings in Kuqan, a village with approximately 2000 inhabitants in Elbasan, Albania. His dad, Ferit, was a veterinarian and his mom was an accountant. He spent the first 19 years of his life in Albania working various jobs, before leaving just before the Albanian Civil War. He was able to leave the chaos due to a scholarship he won in the United States.

Literary career[edit]
Adrian has published many different works and books.[3] His first book, Bittersweet Europe, discussing Albanian and Georgian discourses on Europe, was published in 2013. He followed this up with his second book, Political Reform in the Ottoman and Russian Empires: A Comparative Approach, which was published in 2017.
He has also published many articles.[3]
Diplomas[edit]
He received his BA Diploma in English Language from Aleksander Xhuvani University in Elbasan in 1999. He also received an MA in Contemporary European Studies at the University of Sussex, Brighton in 2000 and another one in Political Science at Central European University, Budapest in 2001. He received his PhD in History and Civilization at European University Institute, Florence in 2010 after defending it the year prior.
Personal life[edit]
He met his wife, Salome Asatiani, whilst they were both studying in Brighton in 1999. They got married 2 years later in 2001, in a ceremony in Tbilisi, Georgia.
He can speak Albanian, Czech, English, Italian, Georgian, Russian, and French with varying degrees of fluency.
