Adrian Politowski (born 8th of October, 1978) is a European film and TV producer from Sweden.

He is credited on over 450 films including the Best Picture Academy Award-winning The Artist (2011), as well as Grace of Monaco (2014),[1] Yves Saint Laurent (2014), What Happened To Monday (2017), I Kill Giants (2017), Mandy (2018), My Brilliant Friend (TV series - 2018), and The Mustang (2019).[2] Ranked 1st on the Famous Television Producers from Sweden by Ranker.com.[3], he won the Best Film - International Competition award at CinEuphoria for Mandy (2018)[4], which was also nominated for the MCFCA Best Horror Film award.[4]

In 2004, Adrian and his partners Nadia Khamlichi and Jeremy Burdek founded Motion Investment Group, which was expanded to become uMedia in 2010.

Since 2010, uMedia produced & co-produced 435 movies and grew to become one of Europe’s largest financing and production groups.[5]

In 2019, Adrian and Nadia Khamlichi launched Align Pictures[6] - a film production and financing company headquartered in LA with international presence in London, Brussels, and Luxebourg. Adrian stepped down as the CEO and Board Member of uMedia in 2020.

For 2022, Align and the other production companies are set to produce the following films: Good Luck to You, Leo Grande[7], Little Nicholas[8][9], Blazing Samurai[10], Kensuke's Kingdom[11][12], and The Canterville Ghost[13].

Adrian Politowski (born 8th of October, 1978) is a European film and TV producer from Sweden. He is currently the CEO of Align. He is a member of the PGA (Producers Guild of America), the European Film Academy and sits on the Advisory Board of WIFTI (Women in Film and TV International).[14]

He is credited on over 450 films including Academy Award-winning Best Picture The Artist (film), as well as Mandy (2018 film), My Brilliant Friend (TV series), What Happened to Monday, Grace of Monaco (film), Yves Saint Laurent (film), The Mustang and I Kill Giants (film),[2]

Early Life[edit]

Politowski was born in Stockholm, Sweden and raised in Poland, Belgium and the UK. He holds Masters in Engineering and a Masters in Economics, both from Oxford University.[14]

Career[edit]

In 2004, Adrian and his partners Nadia Khamlichi and Jeremy Burdek founded Motion Investment Group, which was expanded to become uMedia in 2010.

Since 2010, Umedia produced & co-produced over 435 movies and grew to become one of Europe’s largest financing and production groups. uMedia finances production through its Belgian Tax Shelter Fund.[15] The company has 3 operating VFX facilities: in Brussels, Paris and Vancouver.[16]

In 2019, Adrian and Nadia Khamlichi launched Align Pictures[6] - a film production and financing company headquartered in LA with international presence in London, Brussels, and Luxembourg. Backed by a four-year greenlight fund of $200M, the group retains the ability to fully finance features and television.[17]

In 2020, Adrian stepped down as CEO and Board Member of Umedia.

Good Luck to You, Leo Grande: The story, directed by Sophie Hyde, follows Nancy Stokes, a 55 year-old widow who is yearning for some adventure, human connection and some sex, good sex.[7]

Little Nicholas: The story, directed by Amandine Fredon and Benjamin Massoubre, follows the adventures of a mischievous boy and his schoolmates, teacher and parents in Paris in the 1960s.[8]

Blazing Samurai: The story, directed by Mark Koetsier, follows Hank, a loveable mutt with big dreams of becoming a Samurai. When he finds himself with a new job as sheriff of Kakamucho, he also finds he may have bitten off more than he can chew given the town is inhabited solely by cats.[10]

Kensuke's Kingdom: The story, directed by Neil Boyle and Kirk Hendry, follows a boy swept overboard during a storm on a worldwide sailing trip with his family washes ashore on an island in the Pacific Ocean. While there, he realises someone is nearby, aiding him with his survival.[11]

The Canterville Ghost: The story, directed by Kim Burdon, follows an American family that moves in to the Canterville Chase, a London mansion that has been haunted by the ghost Sir Simon De Canterville for 300 years.[13]
