Adventure Syndicate

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Adventure Syndicate is a social collective based in the United Kingdom, founded by endurance cyclists Lee Craigie and Emily Chappell.[1] The collective aims to encourage and enable young women and girls to take up cycling, and as established athletes in the fields of ultra-distance cycling and bikepacking, provide positive role models.

Activities

Members of the collective are based throughout the UK, but many events focus on Craigie’s hometown of Inverness. Community activities include the Southbound project that challenges schoolchildren to match the miles of four of the group’s riders as they cycle south from Scotland,[2][3] and various talks, workshops and group rides.

The collective also partakes in longer rides, completing Land’s End to John o’Groats over New Year 2017-18 in four days.[4]

In 2018, group rider Jenny Graham attempted to break the world record for an unsupported round-the-world bicycle ride.[5][6][7]
