Ae Hee Lee (Korean: 이애희 born 20 October, 1982) is a South Korean visual artist who currently lives and works in Braunschweig, Germany and Seoul, South Korea. She works in installation and sculpture, painting, and photography.

Biography[edit]

Ae Hee Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1982. From 2001 to 2006 she studied at Gachon University in South Korea. From 2008 to 2011 she studied at the Braunschweig University of Art in Germany. In 2016, Lee received the Zonta ArtPrize.

Work[edit]

Series: "Dream Records"

  • She examine 'myself' by asking, "where do the boundaries of memory lie?" Through exploring her dreams systematically, She try to understand the archetypal, collective prototype of the unconsciousness. The archives of herself and dream research are recorded and reflected in the form of fine, networked structures in her artwork.[1]


Series: "Memory Records" / "Life Project"

  • Lee´s work starts from the question about herself. "Who am i?" She is searching for the answers to the question on 'what is the self'. She records her Daily life and call this Life Project.[2]
