Afisha Media Group is a marketing and media company founded in 1993 in Sacramento, California, United States. It specializes in information, cultural and social support for the Russian-speaking and Slavic communities of Northern California. Its activities include print publications, radio broadcasting, digital projects, and public events.

History
The company was founded in 1993 under the name Afisha, Inc. by entrepreneur and community activist David Ponomar.[1] In 2013, Afisha Media Group celebrated its 20th anniversary with a gala event held on December 8 at La Dolce Vita in Sacramento.[2][3] The anniversary and the company’s history have been covered by independent Russian-language media in the United States.[4][5]
Publications
- Afisha Magazine — a biweekly magazine covering immigration, healthcare, social assistance, and cultural events. Launched in 1998, it began as a small 16-page advertising and information bulletin featuring early Russian-speaking businesses in Sacramento.
- Diaspora Newspaper — a newspaper (since May 1998) dedicated to community issues, leisure, and family topics.
Radio
- ETHNO.FM — a multilingual radio platform and online broadcasting service in Sacramento, California. It began operations on December 5, 1993, as Russian Radio Afisha with a program by Mikhail Morgulis.[6][7] Later it was transformed into the current ETHNO.FM platform. Broadcasting is carried out on the FM frequency 87.7 and via the official website.[8] The station offers 24/7 multicultural programming in Russian, Ukrainian, English, and Romanian, reaching over 250,000 listeners weekly across California's ethnic communities.[9]

- Diaspora News — a Russian-language online media outlet covering the life of migrants in the United States and beyond. Launched in 2006 as the digital continuation of the Diaspora newspaper. Focused on uniting Russian-speaking communities in the U.S. and readers from CIS countries. Based in Sacramento, California.[10]
- Ve4erka.com (Vecherniy Sacramento) — an online news project publishing daily news, incidents, and event announcements for the Russian-speaking audience of Sacramento. Integrated with Afisha Media Group resources (Diaspora News, ETHNO.FM) and accompanied by radio broadcasts.[11]
- UADiaspora.com — an information portal focused on the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States. Publishes news, analytical materials, and cultural announcements related to Ukrainian communities, migration, adaptation, and cooperation with other ethnic groups.[12]
- LadyLife.us — an online magazine for Russian-speaking and Ukrainian-speaking women in the U.S. Features articles on health, beauty, fashion, cooking, family relations, and psychological advice.[13]
