The African Animation Network (AAN) is a for-profit social enterprise with a mission to build capacity within the African animation industry. It was founded in 2016 by South African animator Nick Wilson and is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.[1][2]
Initiatives
In November of 2021, the African Animation Network announced a joint-venture pitch competition called the Great Big African Animation Pitch in partnership with Baboon Animation Africa (BAA). The talent search competition slated to launch sometime in 2022 aims to develop about two dozen pitches into animated shows over the following five years.
