Age Partnership is British company specialising in retirement finance products for the over 50s market. The company’s registered head office is located at Thorpe Park..[1] in Leeds. The company is a member of the Equity Release Council[2], the industry body for the equity release sector and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
History[edit]
Age Partnership is part of the privately owned Age Partnership Group[3]. The company was established in 2004 by entrepreneur Andrew Thirkill[4] who remains the majority Shareholder and Chairman. The company Chief Executive Officer is Tim Loy[5] who has held the position since 2005.
Age Partnership’s UK market share has gone from 12% in 2009 to a current market share[6] of 28%.
In November 2017 Age Solutions, part of the Age Partnership Group[7] began offering whole-of-market equity release advice through Nationwide Building Society. The Nationwide Lifetime Mortgage[8], which is offered exclusively through Age Solutions is a huge step forwards for the equity release sector.
Operations[edit]
Age Partnership employs over 450 staff. After beginning life as an equity release broker the company now offers a range of financial products including; equity release, pension income[9], Wills, lasting power of attorney (LPA)[10] and mortgages[11] including those tailored for the over 50s. For the commercial market the company offers a specialist equity release service for financial introducers[12]
The independent review site, Trustpilot[13] currently holds a number of reviews from Age Partnership customers.
Equity release lending grew by 34% between 2015 and 2016[14], according to the spring 2017 Equity Release Market Report from the Equity Release Council.
