The series is a spin-off of the 2019 web series, Charlotte in Multilink World. Agent Wu was created as a way to expand the Multilink Universe and bring the story to a wider audience. The show was developed as a web series and was produced with a larger budget and more resources than the original web series. Despite being a spin-off, Agent Wu is a standalone show that can be enjoyed by new viewers who have not seen Charlotte in Multilink World. However, fans of the original series will appreciate the references and connections to the previous show.
Production
History (2021)
In 2021, Agent Wu was originally called Detective Annie Wu, but the main cast member, Annie Wu, said no to the title due to her discomfort with it. She stated that she "didn't really like it" and preferred a different title for the show. As a result, the production team went back to the drawing board and came up with the new title of Agent Wu. Despite the change in title, the plot and characters of the show remained largely unchanged. The show was produced by a small studio that worked tirelessly to bring the story to life. From casting and rehearsals to filming and post-production, the team put in a lot of effort and dedication to make Agent Wu a success.
History (2022)
In 2022, Multilink Community Studios made a special announcement regarding the release of Agent Wu. The studio announced that the first episode of the show would be released on February 25, which just so happened to be Annie Wu's birthday. This was seen as a thoughtful gesture by the production team, as it was a way to celebrate the main cast member and show their appreciation for her hard work. The announcement was met with excitement from fans of the show, who were eager to see the first episode and learn more about the adventures of Agent Wu. As the release date drew closer, anticipation for the show only grew, and when the day finally arrived, fans tuned in to watch the first episode and were not disappointed. Overall, the special release date for the first episode of Agent Wu added an extra layer of excitement and significance to the show.

Style
Agent Wu is a popular animated series known for its distinctive 2D animation style, which is reminiscent of the blocky, pixelated look of Minecraft. This style was first introduced in the original series, Charlotte in Multilink World, and has since become a defining feature of the entire Multilink Universe. One of the benefits of using 2D animation is that it allows for a wide range of expressive characters and imaginative environments. The show's creators have used this technique to bring to life a cast of quirky and memorable characters, each with their own unique personalities and appearances. The Minecraft-style backgrounds add an extra layer of whimsy and creativity to the show, giving it a distinct visual aesthetic that sets it apart from other animated series.
