Dr. Ahmad Khuddro (Arabic: أحمد خضرو) is an assistant professor of Translation and Interpreting Studies, an audio-visual translator, and a researcher in the field of English and Translation at Effat University, Jeddah, KSA. He is British Arab, born on the 1st of December in 1960. With a PhD in Language and Literature, Dr. Khuddro has published his work such as Linguistic Issues and Quality Assessment in English-Arabic Audiovisual Translation (2018). As a practitioner in the field, he has translated and subtitled numerous media from the 80s till date including Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice, Grey's Anatomy, Beauty and the Beast, etc.[1][2][3]

Education and Career

Born in the year 1960, Dr. Khuddro received his bachelor's degree (B.A) in English Language and Literature from Aleppo University, Aleppo, Syria (1982). Moving to the UK, he received his Postgraduate Diploma in English Studies (1986) and Doctor of Philosophy in English Language and Literature (1990) from Leeds University, Leeds, UK.[2][4] From teaching secondary schools in Syria, Dr. Ahmad currently works as a professor in academia.[2][4] He was a visiting professor at Bologna University Forli, Italy (2007-2009).[2][5] He is currently a professor in the field of English Translation at Effat University, teaching Masters as well as undergraduate students. He is also a visiting professor of Arabic-English Audiovisual Translation at London City University.[2][6]
