Ahmad Tawanaee (born November 14, 1977) is a businessman with over 25 years of experience in Commercial and Contracts Management. He is recognized by The Gulf Entrepreneur as one of The Most Influential Entrepreneurs of Qatar.[1]
Educational Background[edit]
Ahmad Tawanaee holds a Master of Science in Construction Economics and Management[2] from University College London (2013), a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Quantity Surveying from the University of Greenwich, London (2001), BTEC National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Lewisham College (1998), and completed GCSEs in various subjects from Warwick Park School in 1995.

In 2017, Ahmad founded a claim, commercial, and planning consultancy firm in Qatar, SCM Consultancy (SCM Consultancy previously known as Specialist Consultancy Management). Under his guidance, the business expanded its presence within the GCC region, establishing offices in Oman, UAE, and the UK, and diversified across various sectors.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Member MInstCM at the Commercial Management Institution in the UK and a graduate member of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES), UK. His career has been punctuated by accolades, including nominations to prestigious programs like the Costain High Potential Program and recognition for his exceptional coordination and achievements in various roles.
He holds certifications and affiliations including ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007.
Areas of Work[edit]
Ahmad is currently the Funder and Managing Director of SCM Consultancy[3] – Qatar and UAE . He directs all aspects of organizational operations, including the formulation of policies, ensuring compliance, and crafting effective management strategies to optimize productivity and yield returns. He oversees a team of professional consultants, lawyers, and associates.
From 2016 to 2017 he worked as the Associate Director/Country Manager, Hill International Qatar and made substantial contributions to the Claim, Commercial, and Planning department.
He was also the Business Manager/Commercial Director of Louis Berger Qatar from 2015 to 2016. He held an executive role in ALBER JV, overseeing all commercial and contract activities for projects such as the Doha Metro Rail Project and the Doha New Port Project.
