From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Ahmed Mohamed Shalaby is the President and CEO of Tatweer Misr[1], one of Egypt’s leading real estate companies. He is one of the founding shareholders of the company, which was established in 2014. During his journey with Tatweer Misr, he has been able to draw on his experience through strategic business management and planning, leading the day-to-day management, and setting clear strategic directions for the company’s major projects.

Through his leadership, Tatweer Misr has managed to leave a footprint on the Egyptian real estate industry by launching the largest flagship project on the Galala Mountain of Ain Al Sokhna, Il Monte Galala.[2] A year later, the company launched its second project, Fouka Bay located in Ras AlHekma at the North Coast. Within a short period of time, the project fully sold out and delivered according to its forecasted delivery dates, despite some market setbacks. Soon after, in 2017, the company launched its initial first-home project in Mostakbal City, Bloomfields, thereby becoming Egypt’s first large scale, mixed-use project to feature an entrepreneurial hub.

In addition to his professional work with Tatweer Misr, Shalaby boasts an academic career as a Professor of Architecture and Urban Development at the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cairo University[3].He was also a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of City and Regional Planning at Cornell University, USA.[4]

Along with managing a large-scale real estate company and enjoying an academic career, Dr. Shalaby is the co-Chair of the Real Estate Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham)[5] and a Board Member at the International Council for Small Businesses (ICSB).[6]

Shalaby started his professional career in 1993 as a faculty member at Cairo University and an architectural engineer at his own consultancy firm.[7] Shalaby’s expertise has grown substantially over the years, enabling him to become one of the Egyptian market’s most prominent architecture, urban development, and real estate experts.[8]

For over 25 years, Shalaby has been consulting and managing major real estate portfolios in Egypt. During his journey with Al Fawares, while he was responsible for various real estate investments, he also served as Technical Advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Urban Communities.[9]

Shalaby received his Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from Cairo University in 1993. In 1998, he continued his studies and received his Master’s Degree. In 2003, he received a PhD in Urban Planning through a joint program between Cairo University in Egypt and USA’s Cornell University.
