Ahoy! (Stuart Brown)
Stuart Brown (born date unknown) known online as Ahoy! (Formally XboxAhoy!), is a English Youtuber known for his Video Game Documentaries. Brown's most popular video (subject to change) is his Video on proving Polybius (Game) isn't real, and is in fact a myth. His channel (Ahoy!) Currently has 1.67M subscribers.
Internet Career and Beginning's[edit]
Brown joined YouTube on October, 17, 2009. His first video was "M4A1 - Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Weapon Guide". In the video, he talks the history of the M4A1 and its capabilities. Many people noticed the quality of the video is amazing, and doesn't look old. For about 5 years, he talked about survival guides and Call of Duty gun capabilities. In 2013, Brown uploaded a 19 minute video explaining The History of Video Games. This garnered attention to his YouTube channel and was one of the primary sources for history of video games until recent years on Video Games Games Wikipedia page. He also the history of Gore in Video Games, and later Video Game Piracy. In 2014, he started RetroAhoy! Which talks about the development of the game and its popularity.
Polybius[edit]
Brown uploaded a 1:20:56 video explaining the large popular myth Polybius. Polybius is a fake game that was developed by Sinnelöchen (Fake German company). It was rumored to cause deaths, sickness, and epilepsy to the people that played it. The game was only at the arcade for a month after the FBI took the game away. Brown explains the origins about Polybius and how it became one of the largest myths in video game history. He finds the original origin was source was on Coinop.com. Brown also interviews people who claim they worked on Polybius. Their sayings all come inconclusive or False. He also talks about a GAMEPRO article from 2002. As proven by him, he believes that Polybius is fake and just got spread around to make it sound real. The video is in the External Links area.
The First Video Game[edit]
Brown uploaded a 1:00:50 video explaining the long time Myth of who invented the Video Game? To Summarize his script, The long time answer was the game PONG.Since Pong was the most popular video game in the 70's. Sinclair User,Ahoy!, ST AMIGA FORMAT, all claimed that Pong was the first video game. Although, Atari's first video game wasn't Pong, it was later proven to be Computer Space. Computer Space was made in 1971, a year before Pong's release on the Atari. In 1962, a game called Spacewar!. Later on, people discovered Tennis for Two circa 1957. On the Wikipedia page Early history of video games, a 1947 device is listed as the CRT Amusement Device, its patent is proven, although no definitive gameplay has surfaced. It was talked about prior to 1975 in the Magnavox Lawsuits. Brown comfirmed Christopher Stracery's Draughts as the First Video Game. This video will be posted though External Links.
