Aidan Cassar, known mononymously as Aidan (stylized as AIDAN), is a Maltese singer and songwriter. He represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song "Bella".
Career
In 2015, he competed in the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest. In 2018, he competed in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Dai Laga". Following reports that the song, originally described as an original composition, had used a publicly available production beat and could have potentially violated Eurovision rules, it was revamped and re-released so it would not be disqualified.
He entered the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2022 with the song "Ritmu", placing second. The song went on to top the Maltese Radio airplay charts for three weeks, and Aidan was later invited to perform it at the London Eurovision Party. He was also the Maltese jury spokesperson at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
In 2023, he entered the Malta Eurovision Song Contest again with the song "Reġina". He was disqualified from the contest allegedly due to social media posts about his song which were not allowed by Public Broadcasting Services (PBS). He threatened PBS with legal action but nothing happened after[1]. He would go on to perform a medley of his songs in the interval act.
He later entered the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song "Bella" and won, which enabled him to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. He qualified for the final in which he placed 18th with 89 points.
