History

Aii Language Centers (Aii)[2] was founded in 2005 and offer series of English, Chinese, Thai and other language programs.[3] Aii has since educated over 45,000 alumni living, studying, and working around the world.

Aii operates five campuses (Mao Tse Tong, Toul Kork, Chak Angre, Choam Chao and Phsar Thmey) in Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.

Mao Tse Tong

Aii Language Center, Mao Tse Tong campus was established on January 21, 2005, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. There are three school buildings namely as Aii Buidling, Quach Leang Hao Tower and Villa 4 Building.

Aii is a seven-storey building with land size 558.92 m2. Currently this building accommodates 807 students.

Quach Leang Hao Tower is a sixteen-storey building with land size 364 m2 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The building was inaugurated on May 15, 2010, for American Intercon School and currently accommodates 660 students.

Villa 4 Building is a four-storey building in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with the land size 1567.165 m2. The building was put in use in early 2008 for American Intercon School & Aii Language Center. It was renovated in 2018. For the time being, Villa 4 accommodates 1,335 students.

Toul Kork

Aii Language Center, Toul Kork was founded as the second campus of the Aii Language Center. The campus was established for students from the middle to high income residential area. It was established on April 17, 2014, in Phnon Penh, Cambodia. It is an eight-story building with land size 685 m2.

Chak Angre

Chak Angre campus was founded as the third campus of the Aii Language Center. The campus was established to ease the problems in traveling to cater the demand from the middle to high income residential area at the suburb.

It was established on July 13, 2015, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It is a five-storey building with the land size is 5117.22 m2.

Choam Chao

Aii Language Center, Choam Chao Campus was founded as the 4th campus of the Aii Language Center to provide a quality education that enables its students to be ready to the growing English community in Cambodia and also to contribute to the ever growing demand for local and international businesses seeking for Cambodians with good English.

The campus was established to cater for the demand for the quality education in the middle to high income residential area.

Aii Language Center, Choam Chao Campus was established on February 13, 2019, in Phnom Penh Cambodia. It is a seven-storey building with the land size 1,098.63 m2.

Phsar Thmey

Aii Language Center, Phsar Thmey was founded as the fifth campus of the Aii Language Center. The campus was established to cater for the demand for the quality education in the middle to high income residential area.

It was inaugurated on May 8, 2019, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It is an eight-storey buildings.

Admissions

Admissions process

Students are admitted on the basis of their placement test and oral interview results, which last for one hour. They will be put into different levels according to their English language ability.

Program

ESL Program

  • Pre-kid Program (Pre-kid)

Encompasses practical life lessons and sensorial experience fostering language development.

  • Kid Program (KID)

Designed for children until the age of 13 and conducted on a full-time basis to cover every aspect of the English language. Targets to prepare students for the increasing expectations placed on entering primary, focusing on academic, social, emotional and physical development.

  • General English Program (GEP)

Designed into 12 levels of studies for students to attain an advanced level of English study in order to meet the requirements for employment in English-speaking environment and for university study locally and internationally.

  • Advanced English

An eight-level program, which lasts for approximately two years. This program embedded the TOEFL iBT Preparation Course to equip students with enough ability and skills to take the official TOEFL iBT as a prerequisite for graduation. It is designed for students who want to increase their academic success at university level and meet the language proficiency requirement to universities overseas.

  • English for Specific Purposes (ESP)

This program includes skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing as well as pronunciation and terminologies. This program is designed to prepare the students in facing the working world.

  • Chinese Language Program

Mandarin Chinese courses range from beginner to advanced classes consisting of basic linguistic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

The curriculum is designed to be academic-oriented, focusing on the ability to communicate with Chinese people and proficient in taking Hanyu Suiping Kaoshi (HSK) exam.

  • TOEFL iBT

The course includes TOEFL-focused reading, writing, listening and speaking, with practice exam questions and online simulation tests that mirror the real TOEFL iBT.

  • TESOL House

A broad range of backgrounds, helping students to achieve a varied and fulfilling lifestyle through teaching English.

Athletics

Designed to empower student sports and athletes toward lives marked by high achievement, personal responsibility, and public contribution in a diverse society to use and develop their personal, physical skills and instill habits that will lead them to better and healthier lives.

Supporting services

Language Lab

Offers the opportunity for students to enhance their learning experience through well-equipped software.

Student Affairs Office:

Mainly provides assistance and counseling to students.[5]

Teacher Resource Center

Facilitates collaborative group work and a print collection that includes grammar reference books, teaching methodology, readers and other resources.

ITS (Intercon Transportation Services)

Provides transportation solutions and disciplined culture of safety, serving about four thousand students every day covering approximately 4000 km every day. ITS is active in all the districts in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province[6]
