Aimee Nolte[edit]

Aimee Nolte is an American jazz pianist, vocalist, composer, arranger, and YouTube creator.

She is known for her smooth alto voice and improvisational skills, as well as her ability to create fresh and engaging arrangements of jazz standards.

She teaches musicians how to hone these skills themselves, with her YouTube channel, “Aimee Nolte Music.”

Early Life and Education[edit]

Aimee Nolte was born in Weaverville, California, United States. She started playing the piano at the age of three and began taking vocal lessons at the age of thirteen. Her love for music grew as she got older, and she eventually decided to pursue a career in music. Nolte attended Brigham Young University, where she received a Bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis in jazz piano.

Career[edit]

Nolte began her career as a performer working in various venues throughout the US, and as a guest artist and clinician in schools and colleges. Nolte’s YouTube channel boasts over 250,000 subscribers and contains her performances as well as hundreds of tutorials and lessons about nearly all parts of the musical spectrum. From ear training, how to sing harmony, and how to effectively “comp” in a band, to song analyses of groups like The Eagles, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder to how to survive in the world of professional music.

Nolte has released several albums as a leader, composer, arranger and producer. "Up Til Now," from 2006, “Looking for the Answers,” 2008 with guitarist Hideaki Tokunaga, “Looking For athe Answers,” 2019 which includes an intimate duet with bassist John Clayton, and “Lighten Up,” from 2020 with sidemen, Mike Scott (guitar), James Yoshizawa (drums and percussion), and bassist Bruce Lett.

Her music is influenced by a wide range of jazz legends, including Nat King Cole, Sarah Vaughan, and Bonnie Raitt, as well as contemporary jazz musicians like Diana Krall and Esperanza Spalding.

In addition to her work as a performer and recording artist, Nolte is also a respected music educator. She has created a number of instructional videos and online courses, and teaches private lessons and workshops to students far and wide.

Personal Life[edit]

Nolte has been married to John Nolte since 1997 and together they have 4 children. They reside in Southern California.
