Aircraft Sales & Services Limited (ASSL) Fokker F-27 Friendship

Aircraft Sales & Services Limited is a charter airline company based in Karachi, Pakistan. The head office of the company is located at the Jinnah International Airport. ASSL offers charter, medivac, and air ambulance services on domestic and international routes. It was founded in 1975 and commenced its charter services in 1979, operating with Piper Cherokee and Piper Seneca II.[1]

In 2018, ASSL added the Twin Otter 400 to its fleet from Viking Air. It is the first of its kind to be registered in Pakistan (AP-UEP). The aircraft operates for ASSL under the ownership of UEP.[2]

Partnerships[edit]

In September 2020, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Destinations-Of-The-World (DOTW), a subsidiary of the Hashoo Group, to promote tourism in Gwadar. ASSL holds the Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration (TRPI) license from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).[4]

Incidents[edit]

On March 16, 2016, a Beechcraft 1900D (a twin-turboprop regional airliner) registered as AP-BII, operating a charter flight from Karachi to Sui carrying 18 passengers, suffered power loss in the right engine soon after takeoff. The aircraft made a gear-up landing on the remaining runway, resulting in serious injuries to the crew.[5]
