Akabane (アカバネ町, Akabane-chō) was a town located in Atsumi District, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

As of May 1, 2004, the town had an estimated population of and a density of persons per km². Its total area was 117.40 km².

History

On August 20, 2003, Akabane, along with the former town of Tahara, merged to create the city of Tahara and has ceased to exist as an independent municipality.
