Akash Nigam

Akash Nigam (born March 1, 1992) is an American entrepreneur and investor born in Los Altos, California. In 2017, Nigam founded Genies (previously Blend, 2013) and is currently its CEO and co-founder.[1]

He attended the University of Michigan studying computer science and economics from 2010 to 2014. During his junior year in college, he met University of Pennsylvania student, Evan Rosenbaum, and co-founded Blend, the company that would later become Genies. To raise money for his venture, he made the choice to drop out but his parents gave him an ultimatum: Raise $3 million or stay in school.[2] Nigam and Rosenbaum raised $2.7 million in outside seed funding to start and build Blend.[3] With the information, Both founders pivoted their fledgling company into a new venture and formed Genies in 2017.

Akash was named in Forbes 30 under 30 in 2019.[4]
