Al-Khwarizmi University is a public university in Khorezm, northwestern Uzbekistan. Established on 30 April 2025 by Presidential Decree No. PQ-160, the university focuses on education and research in technology, engineering, and artificial intelligence. It is named after the renowned scholar Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, whose contributions to mathematics and algorithms laid the foundations for modern science.
History
Al-Khwarizmi University was founded as part of Uzbekistan’s national strategy to modernize and internationalize higher education in science and technology.[1]
The university was established under the guidance of the Specialized Education Agency and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan. Its development drew on the educational model of New Uzbekistan University, adapting proven curriculum frameworks, partnerships, and operational systems to the needs of western Uzbekistan.
The institution integrates Central Asia’s rich scientific heritage with modern technological education and aims to cultivate future-ready professionals capable of contributing to Uzbekistan’s digital transformation.
