AlJoharah Bint Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (Arabic: الجوهرة بنت طلال بن عبد العزيز آل سعود) born 4 February 1981 is a member of the House of Saud.[1][2]. AlJoharah is the founder and chairperson of ‘Atlal AlMajd Holding’ Company[3]. She is the Vice President of the Talal bin Abdulaziz Foundation and closely associated with the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) which was founded in 1982 by her father Talal bin Abdulaziz in Early Childhood Development and Women’s Empowerment initiatives[4][5].

Early life and education[edit]

AlJoharah bint Talal was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Talal bin Abdulaziz and Princess Magdah bint Turki Al Sudairy. AlJoharah is the granddaughter of Ibn Saud the founder of modern Saudi Arabia, and grandmother Munayer (of Armenian descent) and maternal grandfather Turki bin Khaled Al Sudairy, the first President of the Human Rights Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was married to Lucile from California[6].

She is one of 15 children, one of her siblings works in the Saudi government; Turki bin Talal Al Saud and he is the Prince of the Southern Region, Asir.[7]

Whilst growing up, she was home schooled most of her childhood due to her fathers extensive travels. She completed her schooling from Riyadh School with Sciences as her major. She graduated from Prince Sultan University with a degree in Interior Architect & Engineering and also holds a degree in Merging Economics from Harvard University[8]. After graduation, AlJoharah worked for a year in Riyadh as an assistant teacher in a kindergarten and later in 2009 worked as an intern in an architectural firm in Riyadh.

Business career[edit]

AlJoharah is the founder and chairperson of the ‘Atlal AlMajd Holding’ Company founded in 2012 along with the e-commerce hub ‘JMH Souk’, a market place for Saudi fashion designers and creative minds. Her passion for Japanese food and culture inspired her to create the authentic restaurant brand ‘Finding Sushi’ which opened in 2014. Then in 2016, AlJoharah became the Managing Director of the ‘Starlight Pre-School’, dedicated to early child development. In 2010 after graduating, she founded the Arabian Jewel Architects company and is the author of a children's book ‘Gonzos Adventures’ to be published, with a new project in the fashion industry based out of Paris to be launched in 2023.

Philanthropic work[edit]

AlJoharah is the Co-Founder and Board Member of Saalima Association for Animal Welfare. She is associated with several organizations; the Charitable Association for Down Syndrome (DSCA) and is the Patron and a sincere supporter of The Magic Drive, whose programs help build the confidence and empowering our future generations to believe in themselves, their ability and their community[9]. AlJoharah is Vice President of the Talal bin Abdulaziz Foundation; She advocates for women’s rights and welfare and is passionately working for better education and entertainment for children[10]

Personal life[edit]

Former husband, now divorced to Khalid Abdulaziz Al Sudairy (2007-2019). They have two children Magda K. Abdulaziz Al Sudairi and Monsur K. Abdulaziz Al Sudairi.

AlJoharah is an artist and graphic designer and has a keen interest in playing the piano and learning different languages.
