Al McFoster is a Canadian born actor and disc jockey (DJ) who also performs under the alias Teknique The Kingpin. Al began his career as a host and contributor for radio stations including his own Kingpin Radio, before pursuing acting full time in 2013. He hosts and produces the podcast Live With @ALMcFOSTER, first made available on iTunes Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music and Deezer in December 2019.
Early Life[edit]
Al McFoster was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and partially in New York City, New York, USA. At the age of eight, Al began performing at various venues and enrolled in a radio broadcasting course at a summer development camp.[1]
Career[edit]
Al McFoster began as a master of ceremonies (MC) and disc jockey (DJ) in nightclubs and for events, taking on the moniker Teknique The Kingpin [2], performing across the globe and releasing multiple Mixtape compilations.[3] This lead to Al working in the internet radio boom of the early 2000s and starting his own internet radio station, Kingpin Radio [4], which has since been rebranded as the podcast Live With @ALMcFOSTER heard on music and podcast streaming services such as Stitcher Radio. After deciding to pursue acting full time in 2013, Al McFoster booked his first principal role as Detective J.R. Martinez in the real life docuseries Motives & Murder: Cracking the Case on the Investigation Discovery (ID) television network.[5] Al has since starred in productions such as: Suits (American TV series), 12 Monkeys (TV series), Taken (2017 TV series), and The Twilight Zone (2019 TV series).[6]
