There are up to 20,000 people from the Albanian ethnicity living in Norway. The majority emigrated from Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia in the last forty years.[1][2][3]
History[edit]
Albanian immigration toward Norway began in the 1980s and 1990s due to discrimination of Albanians in Yugoslavia the subsequent break up of that country. There are also a group of Albanian immigrants in Norway who were refugees from the Kosovo war.[2] Revenge killings or violence in Albania are also a common sited reason for why Albanians seek protection in Norway.[4]
