Early life[edit]

Lew was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, the son of a Taiwanese mother and a Chinese father. His father, Desmond, is a civil engineer [2] and his mother was a pharmacist in Taipei before immigrating to the United States where they met through a mutual friend. He has a younger sister. He attended Don Bosco Technical Institute for high school and studied civil & environmental engineering at the UC Berkeley College of Engineering in the University of California, Berkeley, graduating from its Bachelor Of Science program[3] one year earlier in 2005.

Lew initially worked as an engineer upon graduation, obtaining his professional license[4] as well as co-authored several research papers and presentations.[5][6] He also started taking vocal lessons as a hobby. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he began taking acting classes remotely at the Houde School Of Acting, Drama, Inc, and Upright Citizens Brigade through recommendations.[7]

2021–present: Early work and independent market[edit]

Lew got his start in acting as a supporting role for the non-profit organization Kids In The Spotlight short film Don't Get Comfortable (2021) that won Best Film at its annual awards ceremony.[8] He also had experience as a background actor, appearing in TV shows such as the premiere episodes for the fifth season of SEAL Team. His other early on-screen principal credits include TV pilots such as Grand Jeté and Al & Joshua as well as short films A Distant Land and The Bench. His latest film She'll Be Back was an official selection for the Global Film Festival with him and the castmates receiving an Honorable Mention Best Ensemble Cast award.[9]
