From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Alberto Izzo (Portici, June 25, 1932 - Naples, October 28, 2019) was an Italian architect.[1][2][3][4]

Biography[edit]

Born on the slopes of Vesuvius, he soon moved to Naples where in 1951 he enrolled at the Federico II Faculty of Architecture and he graduated in 1961. Under the pressure of Canino, Izzo made a brief experience with the architect and engineer Pier Luigi Nervi.

During the construction of the UNESCO headquarters in Paris he met Marcel Breuer and with him he had a new work experience in the United States; in Breuer's studio he met Richard Meier. Back in Naples, he attended Giulio De Luca's studio, thus becoming his assistant at the university. At the end of the sixties he opened a private studio where he designed the seat of the Faculty of Theology in Capodimonte and the Esedra Complex in the Centro Direzionale in Naples. In recent years he was involved in the construction of a multi-storey car park at the Capodichino base.
