Alberto Sanfuentes Moreno (died 21 October 1907) was a Chilean farmer and politician who served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies for Itata from 1906 until his death in 1907. A founding member of the Liberal Democratic Party, he also served as second vice president of the Chamber of Deputies.[1]
Early life
Sanfuentes was the son of former deputy and senator Vicente Sanfuentes Torres and Elisa Moreno. His brother Vicente Sanfuentes Moreno also served as a deputy. He married Luisa Echenique Tagle, with whom he had several children.[1]
Sanfuentes devoted himself to agricultural activities.[1]
Political career
Sanfuentes joined the Liberal Democratic Party at its foundation and later served as a director of the party.[1]
He was elected deputy for Concepción, Talcahuano, Lautaro and Coelemu for the 1897–1900 legislative term. However, on 5 July 1897, the credentials of Eduardo Délano and Pedro Bannen were provisionally approved, leaving Sanfuentes and Malaquías Concha outside the Chamber.[1]
Sanfuentes was subsequently elected to the Chamber of Deputies for Itata for the 1906–1909 term. He served as second vice president of the Chamber from 16 October to 7 November 1907 and was a member of the Permanent Charity and Worship Committee.[1]
He died in Santiago on 21 October 1907, while serving as deputy. Enrique Balmaceda Toro was elected to replace him and took his seat on 5 December 1907.[1]
