Alchemy Puzzle (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a browser game released on October 6, 2026.[1][2] Players start with five basic elements and combine pairs of items to create new ones, which can in turn be used as ingredients. The names and descriptions of new items are generated by a large language model the first time a combination is tried, after which the result is fixed.[1][3] The game also includes a card battle mode using crafted items and a character dress-up feature. It is free-to-play with optional purchases.[1]
Gameplay
Crafting
Players begin with five elements: water, fire, earth, wind and lightning. Placing two items into a cauldron produces a new item, which can be combined further.[3]
The game has no predefined recipe table. When a combination is tried for the first time on a server, a language model generates the name and description of the result; from then on, the combination always yields the same item for every player.[1][3] Each server shares a single item codex, and the first player to create an item is credited as its discoverer.[1] Trying a combination that no one has attempted before costs an in-game resource called a soul crystal.[3]
Crafted items have purity, tier and value attributes, and can be traded with other players in an in-game market.[4]
Card battles
Players build a deck of ten crafted items to use in battles. The rules are modeled on Banqi: all pieces start face down, and revealing, moving and attacking each take one turn. Items belong to one of five elements with a cycle of advantages, and an attack against a weaker element deals double damage.[1][5][6] Players can battle each other in a lobby or practice against computer opponents.[5]
Dress-up
Players can customize a character's hat, top, bottoms, shoes, held items and background. The resulting outfit appears in the lobby and in battles.[1][7]
Release
Alchemy Puzzle was released on October 6, 2026, in eleven languages, each running on a separate server with its own codex, market, leaderboards and accounts.[1] Players can start as guests; exploring new combinations and saving progress across devices require linking a Google Account.[8] The game is free to play, with coins, items and subscription passes available for purchase.[1]
Reception
Taiwanese gaming news site Bahamut GNN reported on the game's launch, describing the discoverer credit in the shared codex and the use of a language model to generate items.[1]
