Aldro School is an independent coeducational day and boarding school for approximately 200 children aged between 7 and 13.
History[edit]
Originally established for boys, in Eastbourne at the start of the Second World War the School moved to and subsequently purchased Hall Place in Shackleford from Sir Edgar Horne who had recently lost his wife and he wished to sell the property.[4] The buildings are Grade II listed.[5]
Co-curricular[edit]
Co-curricular activities include rifle and pistol shooting, sailing, swimming, chess and a full 00 gauge train set.[2]
Destination schools[edit]
Destinations for Aldro School leavers are one of 25 mainly boarding schools.[6] Charterhouse is a popular destination for leavers, along with Wellington and Eton.[2] 40% win awards and scholarships.[6]
