Ale McHaddo

Alexandra Machado de Sá a Brazilian trans woman, director, screenwriter and film producer. She began his career editing and writing comics in the comic magazine 44 Bico Largo, published at Escolas de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo. It was in this comic books that outstanding characters such as Osmar, the first slice of the loaf and the Killer Lasagna appeared for the first time. Soon after the comics, Ale dedicated himself to produce computer games, creating Gustavinho in the Enigma of the Sphinx, released in 1996, with the participation of Marisa Orth, who played Cleopatra and interacted with the characters in drawing. After the successful launch of the game, McHaddo produced other titles released for the computer, until in 2000 she released the game Caxy Gambá Encontro o Monstruário, with the special participation of José Mojica Marins.

In 2002, McHaddo inaugurated his filmmaking career, with the animated short film A Lasanha Assassina, winner of several awards around Brazil and the award of the Brazilian Academy of Cinema in 2003.

In 2006, she founded the studio 44 Toons, a spin-off of 44 BicoLargo, a video game producer in the 1990s.

From 2007 to 2008, Ale McHaddo was president of ABCA - Associação Brasileira do Cinema de Animação, where she worked on several projects, among them, the creation of Anima TV stands out, which promoted the development of 10 projects of series of animation.

In 2009, Alexandra started to dedicate herself exclusively to the studio's productions, in the same year, she received the Mip Júnior award in Cannes with the pilot Osmar, a Primeira Slice of Pão de Forma. The international recognition of Osmar's pilot boosted his production and a partnership with TV Cultura and Gloob.[1] the series begins to be produced.

In 2010, she uses the character Gustavinho,[2] in the short BugiGangue - Controle Terremoto.[3]

In 2011, the series Nilba e os Desastronautas was launched, produced in co-production with TV Cultura.[4]

In 2013, the series Osmar, a Primeira Slice do Pão de Forma, starring Leandro Hassum and Marcius Melhem, is launched, the series marks the beginning of production of the series co-produced with the Gloob channel.[1]

In 2017, the feature film BugiGangue no Espaço was released, starring Danilo Gentili and Maisa Silva.[5]

In 2018, the series Bobolândia Monstrolândia is launched, on Nickelodeon (Brazil), in the same year, Mchaddo begins directing live-action films, among them are O Amor Dá Trabalho, released in theaters in 2019, and Amor Sem Medida, released on Netflix in 2021, both starring Leandro Hassum. Exclusively released by Netflix, Just Short to Perfect became the most watched non-English language film in the world in its opening week.
