Alec Baldhead (born December 25, 1963) is an American voice actor, actor and family member. He is best known for his role as Adam Maitland in Beetlejuice.

Early life[edit]

Alec was born in Bald Knob, West Virginia to his mother and father. He cites their positive reinforcement and "stern" parenting style as a key influence in his development as a voice actor and actor. He attended elementary school, high school, and University.

Career[edit]

Alec started in show business when he was two years old. With the encouragement of his parents, he was an active member of the local theatre community in Bald Knob. Soon after graduating from University in 1982, he received his first acting role as Woodhouse in the 1985 film Sweet Dreams because of a connection to the director through his University. Alec later became a voice actor.

Personal life[edit]

Alec met his first wife Jane in 1981. In an interview from 1997, he described their meeting as "the kind of thing where I felt it in my gut that this person was meant to be in my life... for however long that may be. I was beginning to understand who I was. Delving into creative and personal territories I was afraid of entering before. Jane really showed me who I was, and I needed that at that time." Alec and Jane divorced in 1985.
