Alejandro Serralde
Alejandro Serralde (born August 21, 1980 - present) is a Mexican-Australian entrepreneur and one of the modern pioneers of management for success tools and practices. He was a Protégé of Dr. W.J Reddin[1] and mentee of bestselling author Dr. Robin Stuart-Kotze[2], with whom he is now co-author of the books Los Siete Secretos de los Líderes Altamente Efectivos[3] and Success: qué hacer (y dejar de hacer) para ser más exitoso en tu trabajo[4]. Since 2016, Alejandro is Managing Director of Reddin Assessments[5].
Early life and education
Alejandro was born in Cuernavaca, México. He is one of two siblings, and was educated in a Waldorf school, where he focused on arts, sculpturing, music and theatre. His family was constantly traveling between South America, United States and Europe, which made him at a very early age study in Cambridge to study English Literature and Dramatic Arts. In 1999 he entered the University of the Americas[6] to study engineering and then moved to business and economics. He graduated in 2003 with Magna Cumlaude, which granted him a scholarship to start his MBA with the School of Marketing and International Business with an exchange program with EMLYON[7], France. He graduated Cumlaude.
Career
Alejandro joined the investment arm of Westpac Banking Corporation, BT Financial Group in 2007; the bank was becoming the largest institutional and retail bank in Australia. He eventually became one of the youngest Project Associates to work in transformational programs to merge the bank with Asgard. He quit his job to move into larger infrastructure transmission line projects with ElectraNet South and Powerlink Queensland aiming to work in projects of innovation and clean energy, however that never happened; during an interview, Alejandro stated “I was always very diligent in my projects, keeping every single variable on track, however some of my projects failed because the people factor”. Alejandro’ weakness made him change his career: he finished up with his corporate uniform and moved in 2011 to Seattle and then to Miami to join what today is Reddin Assessments. With this chage he started leading transformational programs, using behavioral tools, driving unfreezing training techniques developed by Kurt Lewin[8] and developing capabilities and managerial effectiveness. Actually, his company serves about 200 clients worldwide in the Biotechnology, Banking, Consumer Goods, Government, Retail, Pharma and Aerospace industries. Since 2016, Alejandro has specialized in connecting hard behavioral data into business practices.
Work
Alejandro has a business notion and understand the corporate world; he is recognized for designing agile leadership assessments and making them very applicable to business people. Supported by The 3D Theory[9], he re-produced Reddin’ technology and made it adaptable for the 21st century. Alejandro usually refer to himself as a person with three hats: a consultant, a story teller and a content producer. A consultant needs to have the experience and the know how to canalize knowledge, the story teller knows how to make a story drives the message, and the content producer creates exercises and team dynamics to enable self-awareness and change for success.
Personal life
Alejandro is married to Valentina and live between Los Angeles, Miami and travels the world where the client asks. Although the influence of his father made him a business consultant, he has an artistic soul like his mother; he enjoys art, classical music and writing. His favorite hobbies are watercolor painting, singing and, thanks to his mentor Dr. Robin Stuart-Kotze[2], he has incorporated writing as part of his life.
Contribution
Influenced by his Waldorf education[10], Alejandro has always helped his own community and contributes pro-bono to a number of foundations. He joined City Care Network in 2007 where he provided assistance and social support to frail elderly people. In 2009 he joined MOTT, a non-profit, non-political international society dedicated in fostering the planting, maintenance and protection of trees. In 2011 he joined Together we are Equal[11], a social inclusion awareness NGO that trains young people as volunteers to accompany people with disabilities to participate in summer camps and other social activities. More recently in 2016 Alejandro joined America Developing Smiles[12], a NPO with the purpose of financially supporting the children and young people in several countries of Latin America. He has been able to contribute using managerial experience, but also getting his hands dirty and do what is required to make things happen.
