Aleksandar Karagjulev Ohridski is one of the most important Macedonian national actors from the end of the 19th century, who acted mainly in Sofia and who advocated for Macedonian national independence, thus continuing the Macedonian resistance against the Bulgarian Exarchy. By the way, Aleksandar Karagjule Ohridski worked for some time (1885) as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Makedonski glas (starting with number 5 until its abolition). The last issue of this newspaper published a call to all Macedonians in Bulgaria with weapons to enter Turkey and fight for the liberation of Macedonia. Aleksandar Karagjule was also the main organizer of the Macedonian Reading Room in Sofia (around 1889). Under the pretext of being a participant in actions against the then Bulgarian government of Stefan Stambolov, Aleksandar Karagjule Ohridski was arrested together with other Macedonians (but also Bulgarian oppositionists) and he was sentenced to death by the Sofia court on 07/08/1892. After severe torture, this brave Macedonian was hanged the same year in Sofia. Because of the brutal torture in the Sofia prison
