Aleksandra Zee (born May 22, 1986) is a self-taught woodworker and installation artist and is known for her wooden wall hangings, headboards and table tops that are inspired by the colors and textiles of the desert. Zee creates original and commissioned pieces and also teaches workshops at her studio in Oakland, CA. She tours her art pieces,[dubious ] and speaks to audiences on her craft as a woodworker and interior designer.[citation needed] Her work as a display artist for Anthropologie led to her woodworking career. Zee was born in Southern California and has a degree in Fine Art and Liberal Studies from Azusa Pacific University.[2] She is self-taught in her craft of mosaic patterns which she creates primarily with a wood miter saw and brad nailer.[citation needed]

Published work[edit]
Aleksandra Zee published her book "The Way of the Woodshop" in 2019. It is a guidebook and instruction manual that encourages the readers to attempt Do-It-Yourself projects ranging in difficulty; some of the projects include creating nesting cutting boards, a blanket ladder, a daybed, a table and bench. Zee encourages her audience to tap into their creativity, and recognize the joys of working with their hands. She also shares stories from her own journey, as a woman carving out her space in a stereotypically male profession.[10][unreliable source]
