Aleshan syndrome

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Aleshan Syndrome is an opposite to Stockholm Syndrome.[1] When a person is victim of a violent crime, they experience repulsion towards everything similar or reminding of the perpetrator. In severe cases the repulsion may be for a whole gender, race or ethnicity. Evidence for this theory was acquired by investigation of rape cases, but is presumed to be universal. This syndrome is not gender-specific.

Mary Jo Buttafuoco argues that people who live with sociopaths and other violent people tend to get involved with these individuals because they have felt betrayal and hatred towards their attackers.[2]
