Alex Avery (born 6 August 1971 in Bristol, Gloucestershire) is an English actor who played SC Terry Knowles in The Bill in 2001, and played Carl in Holby City in 1999. He has also guest starred in Shameless and EastEnders. He has also appeared in the film Quills (2000), Last Chance Harvey (2008) and Dunkirk (2004).
In 2012 the cast of hit West End show War Horse the stage adaptation has appeared at the Olympic Park, as equestrian eventing get under way over in Greenwich. Lifesize puppet Joey the horse was accompanied by his handler and Captain Nicholls, played by actor Alex Avery.
In 2014 Alex Avery appears as Fenton Mitchell in Doctors (Series 16: 132).
He will be appearing in a Neil Jordan film in the future.
