Alex Brüggemann was a German video game developer, co-founder of Piranha Bytes, and game designer of broadly known video game Gothic.
Life and carreer[edit]
Before joining Piranha Bytes, Alex Brüggemann worked for Greenwood Entertainment as a 3D modeler and animator.
After the completion of Gothic, he left Piranha Bytes and devoted himself to smaller game projects until he took over the game design of The Settlers: Rise of an Empire, published in 2007 by Ubisoft.
Alex Brüggemann died on the night of January 20th after a long illness with his family[1][2]
