Alexa Skye Swinton is an American actress, singer and songwriter. She appeared in a lead role as Piper in the 13-episode ABC prime time series called Emergence[1] and has a recurring role as Eva Rhoades in Billions and the upcoming series And Just Like That where she will play the character of Rose Goldenblatt. She starred in M. Night Shyamalan's OLD playing the role of Young Maddox.

Career[edit]

Swinton was born in New York City to Rolfe and Inna Swinton. Her family is of Clan Swinton. Her mother Inna is an actress, lawyer, and author.[2]

Swinton begun her film career performing at age three in Matthew Barney’s River of Fundament where she performed opposite Paul Giamatti and Elaine Stritch.

She made her television debut playing the younger version of the lead character Claire, in Starz’s “Flesh and Bone”. Alexa appeared in a range of broadcast TV shows including Manifest, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, and The View.

Swinton has appeared in numerous short films, including the multi-award-winning short Nettles written and directed by Raven Jackson, with the director of photography, Jomo Fray.

She has appeared in a number of off-Broadway productions including Annie Warbucks and Madeline’s Christmas. She originated the role of Addie[3] in Make Believe,[4] written by Bess Wohl, and directed by Jackson Gay at the Hartford Stage. She also originated the role of Young Inna in the world premiere of Kooky Spook at the New York New Works Theatre Festival. In 2019, she took part in the filming of the feature "Sometime Other Than Now" in the role of Molly, starring opposite Donal Logue, Trieste Kelly Dunn and Kate Walsh and was directed by Dylan McCormick.

Swinton's first leading role in television was as Piper in Emergence.[1] The show ran for 13 episodes from 2019–2020.[5][6] Swinton received positive reviews for her performance as Piper where The Hollywood Reporter described her performance as "impressive."

Swinton released her first original song in August 2020 called You, Me and My Purple Docs.[7] She first performed the song publicly on Canadian TV station CHCH-DT in Hamilton, Ontario.[8]

Swinton has a recurring role as Eva Rhoades, the daughter of main characters Chuck and Maggie Rhoades in Showtime’s television drama Billions.[9]

She starred in M. Night Shyamalan's feature film Old playing the role of Young Maddox. Old was filmed in the Dominican Republic in late 2020 and was released on 23 July 2021.

She has been cast to play the recurring role of Rose Goldenblatt in the upcoming HBO series And Just Like That.[10]

Personal life[edit]

Swinton lives in New Jersey. She has two siblings, Maxim and Ava,[11] who are also performers.
