Career

Early Financial-Services Career

Fischman entered the securities industry in 2012. His early registration history included Portfolio Advisors Alliance and Spartan Capital Securities before he joined Laidlaw & Company in 2013.

From 2013 to 2016, Fischman worked as an associate broker at Laidlaw & Company. The position gave him experience in financial markets, investment research, client communication and relationship management. [3]

In 2016, he joined Dinosaur Financial Group, where he worked in institutional capital markets. His role involved market analysis, client strategy and relationship management, providing broader exposure to domestic and international financial markets. [4]

Merrill Lynch

Later in 2016, Fischman joined Merrill Lynch and completed the firm’s Financial Advisor Development Program. His training covered financial planning, capital markets, portfolio construction and long-term client service.

Fischman founded the wealth management practice that would later become the Fischman Azar Group in 2015 and continued developing it during his time at Merrill Lynch. The practice was built around structured investment planning, individualized advice and a high level of ongoing client communication. [5]

In 2019, Fischman began working with Shalom Azar. Their partnership led to the development of the Fischman Azar Group, combining their complementary experience in investment management, executive financial planning and personalized client service. [6]

Morgan Stanley

Fischman and Azar joined Morgan Stanley in 2021. Fischman continued advising clients on portfolio strategy, risk management and long-term financial planning while helping expand the team’s wealth management practice.

During the team’s affiliation with Morgan Stanley, the Fischman Azar Group was named to the 2025 Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams list. The recognition was awarded in January 2025 and was based on research covering the period from March 2023 through March 2024. [7]

Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network

In July 2025, Fischman and the Fischman Azar Group transitioned to Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. Fischman serves as a Senior Financial Advisor and co-founder of the group from its office in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

The transition allowed the group to maintain its own practice identity and boutique service model while drawing on the technology, research and institutional resources available through Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. The practice subsequently expanded its advisory and client-service teams to support its continued development.
