Alexander Garrett Pennecke is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Ezra Smith on the NBC medical drama television series Brilliant Minds. [1] Pennecke has also appeared as a guest on the NBC show The Blacklist, the ABC show Doctor Odyssey, and the Starz show Power Book III: Raising Kanan. [1]

Early life and education

Pennecke was born in Bethesda, Maryland and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia.[1] He graduated from Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, Virginia and attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, running for the NCAA Division 1 Track and field team before graduating in 2014. He discovered acting on a required arts credit and slowly transitioned into the field. [1]

Career

Pennecke has guest-starred on various TV shows including Brilliant Minds (2024) and Power Book III: Raising Kanan. He also performed in The Blacklist (2020), Doctor Odyssey (2025), as well as in supporting parts in multiple films. [2]
