Alexander Wraith (born June 29, 1984) is an American actor, director, screenwriter, filmmaker and martial artist. Wraith set a world record for the fastest martial arts head kick at 76mph with over 5800 lbs of force. The record was set at the Biomechanics sports science Lab at the University of Southern California. The Kick was recorded in the documentary "Killer Legs" producer by Bianca Van Damme, daughter of Jean Claude Van Damme and directed by Nathan Mccoy. In "Killer Legs" Alexander Wraith is compared to Bruce Lee who was also an American martial artist, action film actor, martial arts instructor, philosopher and filmmaker" Alexander Wraith and Bruce Lee both share the very rare ability to kick at superhuman speed.

Mainstream success[edit]

Wraith appeares in Netflix original series Orange is the new black Alex starred along side Liam Neeson and Forest Whitaker in Taken 3, Alexander also starred in Eminem - Guts Over fear and Sex and the City 2, the sequel to the 2008 film Sex and the City, which is based on the HBO TV series of the same name.[1] He also appeared in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, by Oliver Stone; it is the sequel to the 1987 film Wall Street Starring Shia Labeouf.

His career in acting began when he joined a friend to an audition on the TNT show, Monday Night Mayhem. Alexander attended Columbia University and NIDA National Institute of Dramatic Art[citation needed]

Early life[edit]

Wraith was born in Englewood, New Jersey. By age 11, he had begun designing, painting and sculpting. At 18, he was awarded a scholarship to Parsons, New York City. Wraith attended several different high-level acting programs, including William Esper Studio and the Lee Strasberg Theatere Institute, Columbia University in New York, and the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, Australia. He also studied under Harold Guskin, Wynn Handman and Robert Modica at Carnegie Hall in New York.[2][3] He has worked as a model with Wilhemena Models.[2]

Wraith also became interested in the martial arts which lead to his competing in boxing as a Golden Gloves contender. He won a Gold medal for Tae Kwon Do Sparring in the Junior Olympics in Colorado and boxed for over five years with Kevin Rooney at the famous Cus D'Amato gym in Catskill, New York. Wraith also attended Front Sight Firearms Training Institute in Nevada, for stunt work, firearms and tactical training.[2]

In 2011, Wraith wrote and starred in the feature film Greystone Park and made his directorial debut with the 2014 short film Avec le Temps and the 2015 full-length feature Paranormal Activity Security Squad.[2] As of March 2012, Wraith had written over 25 screenplays.[citation needed]

While filming Oliver Stone's Savages, he was involved in an accident in which one of the film's transportation vans lost control on its way down a 40 degree rocky hillside slope in Mystery Mesa Ranch, California. The van flipped, rolling down a ravine and landing on its roof; of the 15 passengers, 6 were injured, including Wraith, whose shoulder came out of socket and he was still able to help the injured out of the up side down van.[citation needed]
