Alexandra Moura (born 27 July 1973, Lisbon, Portugal)[citation needed] is a Portuguese fashion designer, who presents her collections internationally every season and has been awarded by different entities, such as Portuguese Government and Golden Globes (Portugal).

Biography

She graduated in 1996 at IADE - Instituto de Arte e Decoração, specializing in Fashion Design Projects.[citation needed]

She debuted her brand at 18th edition of ModaLisboa presenting Autumn/Winter 2002/03. Since then, she has been presenting her collections in several events such as ModaLisboa and PortugalFashion. Since 2002, Alexandra Moura has been invited to present her collections in various international events: Showcase “+ Portugal”, in Barcelona (2002), Belgrado Fashion Week, Sérvia (2003 e 2006), Baltic-Sea Hi Fashion Show (2004 e 2005), in Heringsdorf, Germany, Dragão Fashion in Fortaleza, Brasil (2005), ModaProp in Cabo Verde (2008), Passarela Mustang Festival Benicassim 09, in Spain (2009).[citation needed] During four seasons.[1], she presented at London Fashion Week has been a continuous presence at Paris Fashion Week. “Alexandra Moura is the first Portuguese at the official calendar”[2] of Milan Fashion Week, invited by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana to participate at the event since February 2019.

Since 2016, Alexandra Moura is participating in showrooms at Paris Fashion Week. And has been present in some fairs and showrooms such as Bread and Butter, TRANOI Paris, showroom oficial da London Fashion Week, CIFF (Copenhaga), WHITE MILAN.[citation needed]

Alexandra Moura is the only Portuguese fashion designer introduced in publications as ”Young European Fashion Designers” (2007)[3], “Atlas of Fashion Designers” (2009) [4] [5], ”Mapa da Moda Contemporânea” (2011) [6] e ”The Sourcebook of Fashion Design” (2011).

Since 2003 she is a teacher at Escola Superior de Artes - ESART, in Castelo Branco, Portugal. From 2014 to 2018, she was invited to speak at some editions of the Fashion Journalism course of Pulp Fashion school. Since 2019, Alexandra Moura has been teaching at Modatex (Lisbon) and ETIC (Portuguese Schools).[citation needed]

Alexandra Moura has developed some wardrobe and costume designs.[7] She dressed personalities such as Joana Vasconcelos, Gisela João, Sónia Tavares, Dino D’Santiago. She designed the wardrobe for the musician João Barbosa and his guests Sara Tavares, Mayra Andrade, Dino D´Santiago and the rapper Plutónio at the break act of the Eurovisão hosted in Portugal in 2018[8]

Awards

In December 2014, Moura was distinguished with the award “Women Creators of Culture” given by the Citizen and Equal Gender Commission from the Government Culture State and State Secretary of the Parliament Matters and Equality Governo XX.[9]

In 2008, Alexandra Moura won the Golden Globe Award for the Best Fashion Designer in Portugal.[10]
