Alexandre Gurita is a French-Romanian artist currently living and working in Paris. His artworks are immaterial, consisting of experiences and human networks embedded in real life, such as getting married in 2009 as his graduation art submission.[1][2] He is well-known for having resurrected the art biennial Biennale de Paris and the art school Institut des Hautes Études en Arts Plastiques, two notable and iconic French institutions which had ceased to function until he controversially reclaimed their titles and brought them back as new concepts.[3][4] The IHEAP school functions in Paris and has since expanded to New York City.[5][6]
