Alexey Sechenov (Alexey Sechenov (Russian: Алексéй Геннáдьевич Сéченов), born in Moscow on February 8, 1966, is a Russian cinematographer and director. He has been a member of the Russian Academy of Television since 2004 and a member of the Russian Academy of Arts since 2013. In 2016, he was awarded the title of Honoured Arts Worker of the Republic of Tatarstan. On November 30, 2007, he founded the company Sechenov.com.[1]
Biography
Born in Moscow on February 8, 1966. Studied at Bauman Moscow State Technical University. After completing conscription in the army, he began his career at the Ostankino Technical Center in 1986 as a lighting technician before becoming a camera operator.
In 1991, he enrolled at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (in Vladimir Kobrin's workshop, organised with the Rolan Bykov Center). He graduated in film directing from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. As a student, he took an active part in work on music and promotional videos as a camera operator and director. He has made around 80 music videos for Russian show business performers, including "Skoryi poezd" (Garik Sukachov), "Kudriavaia" (Alexander F. Sklyar), "Ia milogo uznaiu po pokhodke" (Garik Sukachov, Alexander F. Sklyar), "Sorok dve minuty pod zemlei", "Na kraiu zakata", "Radio nochnykh dorog" and "Daleko" (Valeriy Syutkin), "Dorozhnaia" (Anatoly Krupnov), "Strana chudes" (Sergey Galanin) and "Bliuz" and "Noch' pered rozhdestvom" (Marina Khlebnikova).[2].
