Algicosathlon is a series of running simulations on a physics app called Algodoo, featuring stick figures called "athletes" named after certain colors (ex. red, blue, yellow, etc.) There are about 16-30 athletes in 1 series.

Rules[edit]

Algicosathlon has a few rules. Athletes must compete in certain events. These athletes get points based on how well they do in each event (ex. first place gets 100 points, last gets none). The athletes with the lowest score after each day gets eliminated and will not compete in in further events. Some series have rejoins, where viewers can vote for eliminated athletes to come back, sometimes, however, votes give athlete higher probabilities of rejoining through a rejoin event.

Events[edit]

Events are Algodoo adaptations of sports, as well as other nonsense only athletes can do. These include:

  • Race to the bowl
  • BMX Cycling
  • Long Jump
  • Running
  • Pole Vault
  • Basketball

Finale events usually bring back eliminated athletes.

Creators[edit]

Some creators upload Algicosathlon videos to YouTube. A few well-known ones are:

  • Carykh
  • John Dubuc
  • LucidSigma
  • Jack Spero
  • NotScotish
  • Musikoopa (formerly Dancingfb18)
  • Lvii (formerly BlueMario57)
  • Enlighten007
  • Orange Muffin
  • Algobelt Official
  • Kerem's Marbles
  • Star Mapping / Racing

Algodecathlon and Algotriacotathlon[edit]

Algodecathlon came before Algicosathlon, consisting of 12 athletes. It came to be in July 2012, some creators adapted this series as well. Algotriacontathlon was the bigger version, created about 3 years after Algicosathlon.

Origin[edit]

Algodecathlon was created in July 2012 by carykh, one of the creators of the well-known YouTube show Battle For Dream Island. The videos came out quick, with a new episode being released every day. Then came Algicosathlon, on November 18, 2012. Many people wanted to recreate this series, and some are ongoing today.

Skits[edit]

Skits usually happen before the event, usually athletes talking about many things. Most YouTubers use skits. They create with the brush tool in Algodoo or using Google Slides.

The Name[edit]

Algicosathlon is a combination of "Algodoo" and "Icosathlon", as confirmed by Algorox.
