Ali Bakhshi is an Iranian-Jewish inventor with several inventions and international medals. He is an official member of the International Federation of Inventors Associations (IFIA) and received the title of INV in 2022 [1]. He has co-authored multiple English chapters and ISI papers in biomedicine, nanotechnology, and nanobiomedicine [2][3][4][5][6].

Early Life[edit]

Ali Bakhshi was born in Tehran, Iran, in November 1995. He is the first of two children and has a sister named Mahya. Ali's ancestors, originally from Kara Dag ('Black Mountain'), were forced to leave their homeland due to the hardships and persecution faced during the Crimean Jewish displacement [7].

In 2001, his family moved to the village of Gundughdi in Mianeh County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran. That same year, he began his education at Tohid Governmental Leading School, where he learned Turkish and developed a passion for arithmetic. Alongside his studies, Ali worked as a farmer and shepherd, creating things out of wood like bows and arrows, statues, and small machines.

In 2007, Ali was accepted into a talented school (Sampad) and a magnet school after passing an entrance exam. Due to the distance between his village and the city, he chose Ostad Shahriar Governmental Leading School (magnet school), which had a dormitory. During this time, he excelled academically and was ranked as the top student in his first year, winning a bicycle, which motivated him to pursue further academic achievements. Between 2007 and 2010, he consistently ranked as a top student, earning recognition at the Scientific Festival of Distinguished, Innovative, and Inventive Students.

In 2010, Ali’s family moved to Mianeh city, and he continued his studies at Shahid Bakeri Governmental Leading School, focusing on mathematics and physics. His British father, Naghi Bakhshi, returned to Iran, and the family relocated to Tehran in 2012. Ali completed his high school education at Shahid Hemmat Governmental Leading School, earning his diploma in 2014.

In 2014, Ali chose to study physics engineering at Tabriz University, focusing on condensed matter, plasma, and laser fields, despite initially considering aerospace engineering. During his B.Sc., he self-studied various fields, including electrical engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, industrial design, and business. He developed methods for removing indigo dye from carpets at his family’s business, Azar Sky Company, which he kept as trade secrets. In 2018, he completed his B.Sc. and defended his thesis, "Study of the Mechanism of Chemical Vapor Deposition Assisted by Plasma and Its Applications," with a top score. Inspired by Richard Feynman, he pursued an M.Sc. in nanotechnology at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). During his M.Sc., he worked on several inventions, choosing to keep them as trade secrets.

In 2021, after defending his thesis, "Manufacturing and Evaluation of Optical Fiber-Based Magnetic Field Sensors Containing Graphene-Magnetite Hybrid Coating," Ali faced conscription. However, his elite certifications from IUST saved him, and he secured a research assistant (RA) position at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM). As a RA, he worked on various projects and, in his free time, contributed to articles [3][2][4][5], inventions [8], books [8], codes (GitHub), design ideas (GrabCad).

Ali's passion for knowledge led him to become an R&D engineer at his family business, where he established electrical and chemical laboratories. He also worked as a scientific researcher at IPM for about two years from 2021. Currently, he works as a freelance patent scientist/engineer and serves as the CEO of his startups [9]. Ali has collaborated with several distinguished professors, including Prof. Dr. Navid Rabiee, Prof. Dr. M. R. Mozafari, Prof. Dr. Abbas Rahdar, Prof. Dr. Reza Moghadasali, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sadegh Asgari and Prof. Dr. Seyed Morteza Naghib at the Motamed Cancer Institute. These collaborations have resulted in multiple projects, patents, publications, and research chapters [9].

Personal Life[edit]

Ali is a polyglot, speaking four languages: English, Turkish, Persian, and Iranian Turkish. He has a unique visual thinking ability, allowing him to model inventions before they reach the production stage.
